TOWN OF EVANSVILLE Official Comment from the Town

Dear Residents of the Town of Evansville, the Town is aware of the current complaints regarding the odor and taste of the Town’s tap water. We have received all of the complaints and comments regarding the tap water. The Public Works Department and our Water Treatment Plant specialists have taken numerous different samples of the water and had the samples professionally tested. All test results have come back completely normal and there are no contaminants identified in the water. The tap water is completely potable and safe for consumption. We understand that the tap water still has a distinct odor and taste. Our Public Works Department and Water Treatment Plant staff are monitoring the water at the intake point in the North Platte River, and through the treatment process to ensure that all systems are properly functioning. The Public Works Department has completed additional rounds of flushing of the entire system. We are continuing to take samples, test the samples, and trying tirelessly to determine the source and causation of the change in odor and taste. Despite the change in odor and taste we assure you that your tap water is safe for consumption. We will update you as soon as the Town receives additional information. We appreciate your understanding during this process.
